The Tiny Desk AI template: every shot
Nov 3, 2026
The vertical viral cut of the Tiny Desk closer, trimmed to the 15 seconds that carry the meme, across three shots. This page lists who appears in each shot and how to add your own people, with a CapCut template or with AI.
The shots
In a Tiny Desk AI video, the people you add take these spots. Spots you don't fill keep their dog.
- 0:00 to 0:06, band: keys, backing vocals left and right.
- 0:06 to 0:12, big laugh: lead vocals, the long close-up at the mic.
- 0:12 to 0:15, sax solo: sax.
Who's on screen when
| Time | Shot | Seats on screen |
|---|---|---|
| 0:00 to 0:06 | Band | Keys, backing vocals left and right |
| 0:06 to 0:12 | Big laugh | Lead vocals |
| 0:12 to 0:15 | Sax solo | Sax |
Keys and both backing singers carry the long band shot, lead vocals get the close-up, and sax gets the solo that ends the clip. Tiny Desk AI charges the same whether you fill one seat or five.
Why the cut starts on the band
Face swaps work best when faces point at the camera, so the clip starts on the band shot, where every face does. The whole cut keeps the original timing, camera and song.

Template questions
Is it free? CapCut templates are free but only give you the cuts and the song, not your face in the performance. Tiny Desk AI does the AI part for one credit per video.
Can I change the song or the cuts? No. The template keeps the viral cut and the original song. You choose who appears, not how it's edited.
Do I need CapCut or an editing app? No. Upload photos, press make, download the MP4.
Who should get lead vocals? The person the video is about: a losing head coach, a rival's star, or you. Lead vocals get the close-up.
Can I fill only some spots? Yes. Any one to five spots cost the same. The rest keep their dog.
